John Hoogenakker, who recurs in Season 1 of Amazon’s drama series Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, has been promoted to series regular for Season 2.

Hoogenakker plays Matice, a tough and salty American who works black ops for the CIA. At first skeptical of what appears to be a desk-jockey, he quickly develops a new respect for Jack Ryan (John Krasinski) after seeing him handle himself in the field.
Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, which hails from the Lost duo of co-showrunner Carlton Cuse and writer Graham Roland, Platinum Dunes, Skydance Media and Paramount TV, is a reinvention with a modern sensibility of the famed and lauded Tom Clancy hero, starring Krasinski and Abbie Cornish. It centers on Jack Ryan (Krasinski), an up-and-coming CIA analyst thrust into a dangerous field assignment for the first time. He uncovers a pattern in terrorist communications that launches him into the center of a dangerous gambit with a new breed of terrorism that threatens destruction on a global scale.
Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan was greenlighted for an eight-episode Season 2 ahead of its upcoming August 31 Season 1 global debut on Prime Video.
In season two, Jack Ryan (Krasinski) confronts the forces in power in a dangerous, declining democratic regime in South America. The second season commences production this summer in Europe, South America and the United States. Also returning for Season 2 is Wendell Pierce who will reprise his role as James Greer.
Hoogenakker also will be seen in a major recurring role in the upcoming season of Colony. He previously recurred on Empire, The Girlfriend Experience, Chicago Fire and Boss. He’s also the Dilly Dilly king in the Bud Light commercials. Hoogenakker is repped by Stewart Talent.
