The Real Housewives Authors: A Look Back At The Bravo Best Sellers

Real Housewives Authors

Lisa Rinna‘s book “Rinnavation: Getting Your Best Life Ever” is enjoying renewed interest after it became a hot topic on a recent episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. So much so that the publisher is printing a new batch of copies to meet the revived demand, she revealed on Watch What Happens Live this week.

Lisa did write her book in 2010, long BEFORE she became a Real Housewife but it had us thinking about all of the Housewives who have written books over the years. As we wandered down memory lane, we unearthed some wonderful little nuggets that had been long-forgotten! And with Erika Jayne‘s “Pretty Mess” about to hit the shelves in March, let’s take a look at the staggering list of books by the Housewives who’ve graced our Bravo channel over the years.

Teresa Giudice

"Standing Strong"

Saying that she’s “really opened up” in her latest memoir, Teresa Guidice has promoted this book (the latest of many) as the rawest, realest Tre ever. Much like we’ve seen on this season’s Real Housewives Of New Jersey, Teresa discusses her resentment toward Joe Guidice for “ruining their lives,” and how she’s coping since her mother passed away. Next up for Teresa? Novels! Yep. You heard it here first.

Caroline Manzo

Since her departure from RHONJ, Caroline Manzo has continued her “matriarch” role in her family’s Bravo spinoff, Manzo’d With Children. In her advice book, named after her season one line to Danielle Staub, Let me tell you something about my FAMBILY! Caroline gives us advice on "family, life, and love, and her shockingly honest confessions about beauty, body image, and even plastic surgery."

Dina Manzo

The original Namaste-b*tch, Dina Manzo, shares her party planning tips with us so that we, too, can learn how to throw a party, Jersey-style! Which includes bolting all tables securely to the floor, one would presume.

Jacqueline Laurita

Wait – what? Oh, you didn’t know Jacqueline Laurita wrote a book either? Okay, whew. I thought it was just me! In any case, she’s here to tell us how to get more organized, healthier, and “change up our hair routine.”

Danielle Staub

The women of Jersey are sure keeping the Garden State’s best ghost/co-writers busy! Danielle’s tell-all from 2012 explains “her side of the story” about the controversy surrounding her ex-husband and her in the previous book, Cop Without A Badge. You know – the book that launched a thousand table flips?

Melissa Gorga

Melissa Gorga knows how to keep her marriage sexy. And she tells us all about it in her book, Love Italian Style. Tips include: having “maintenance sex” even when you’re not in the mood, and letting your husband buy a restaurant without consulting you first. Good luck!

Kathy Wakile

Kathy Wakile knows how to make tiny little desserts. And even if she can’t peddle them on RHONJ anymore, she can still attempt to share the recipes in this cookbook!

Ramona Singer

Even though she probably didn’t thank Bethenny Frankel for basically handing her the title of this book, Ramona Singer embraces her inner crazy in The Ramona Coaster, a “candid, behind-the-scenes glimpse into the emotional, dynamic and often entertaining life” of the original Real Housewife Of New York. There will be Pinot.

Carole Radziwill

Despite Aviva Drescher’s accusations, Carole Radziwill is the only legit author on this list. Her 2015 sideways take on widowhood is described as a “fast-paced, light hearted, humorous novel” that follows a fictional New York woman as she gets back into the dating game after the death of her husband. In other words, it’s about Carole.

Aviva Drescher

Speaking of Aviva…she’s got her own 2015 book to flaunt! Which is partially why she went so hard for Carole during their time together on RHONY. Her memoir teases, “While Aviva is no stranger to controversy, the person beneath the persona is a woman of substance with a fascinating past.”

Bethenny Frankel

Confession: I checked this damn book out of the public library and read it – last year. Yep – 7 years late! In the book that Bethenny wrote during her time on Bethenny Ever After, the Skinnygirl mogul was on just the cusp of becoming mega-rich, still married to Jason Hoppy, and new mom to daughter, Bryn. Reading the intimate details of their “happy” family life all these years later is very strange, to put it mildly. It’s like a Housewives time capsule.

Luann de Lesseps

In a similar time capsule, we have Luann de Lesseps2009 guide to all things etiquette-related. *Update: Kicking police officers, busting out of handcuffs, and screaming “I’m going to KILL YOU ALL!!!!” at law enforcement officials is not included in original release.

Phaedra Parks

And the hits just keep comin’! Phaedra Parks fancied herself the quintessential Southern Belle, as entitled in her one and only book on manners and “no-nonsense guide to life.” Subjects of marrying convicts and falsely accusing friends of rape are not broached, lest pearls be clutched! #FixItJesus

NeNe Leakes

It’s time to learn lessons, people. From NeNe Leakes. Yes, she wrote a book in 2011 about how to not repeat “the same mistakes” in life, then went on to show just how that very thing is done on The Real Housewives Of Atlanta! Oh, who am I kidding. I’d still read this. NeNe – I just can’t quit you!

Heather Dubrow

Heather and Terry Dubrow show us how to stay Hollywood young without “painful procedures”…like the ones Dr. Dubrow performs as a plastic surgeon. Makes sense.

Vicki Gunvalson

Buy this book for the cover alone! Vicki Gunvalson, the OG of the OC, published this beauty in 2009 to reveal details about her life pre-Housewives, and pre-Brooks.

Brandi Glanville

Brandi Glanville’s beach read, Drinking & Tweeting, actually did pretty well on the shelves. The LA Times called it “the best piece of celeb literature we’ve ever come across.”

Kyle Richards

Before Kyle Richards produced her forthcoming American Woman series, she was writing books about how “down to earth” she is and her total “lack of pretention.” HAHAHAHA! Oh, give me a minute. Alright, let’s continue…

Lisa Vanderpump

Meanwhile, Lisa Vanderpump was shilling her own Martha Stewart-esque “how to be fabulous guide.” The only hitch? She didn’t offer readers a Beverly Hills trust fund along with the suggestions.

Taylor Armstrong

In the darkest Housewives memoir yet, Taylor Armstrong alleged her late husband abused her for years before taking his own life. Much of their relationship's turmoil played out on RHOBH, but no one knows the truth about what happened inside that house.

Yolanda Hadid

After being accused of Munchausen syndrome, Yolanda Foster/Hadid shouted about her Lyme's disease from the rooftops. Then she wrote this book.

Erika Jayne

Erika Girardi has morphed entirely into Erika Jayne on RHOBH this season, and part of her storyline includes working with a writer to publish her personal story. Just how personal Erika plans to get in this memoir is still up for debate, though. Remember – she’s got diamonds in her veins! And secrets in her vault.
