Taylor Swift is not buying a home near Joe Alwyn, an insider tells Gossip Cop exclusively, contrary to a new report. This false story claims the superstar is in the process of house-shopping, but the allegations just aren’t true. In fact, our impeccable confidante, who commented on the condition of anonymity, calls the whole article “laughable.”

The untrue tale comes from The Sun, which is announcing in a headline on its website, “Taylor Swift wants to buy £30m home that’s big enough for two kitchens near her British boyfriend Joe Alwyn.” According to the newspaper, Swift has millions of dollars “burning a hole in her pocket,” and now she “wants to invest on a huge house” in the UK. Since the singer’s beau is based in England, the tabloid contends she “wants to set up a permanent base,” and is eyeing North London as a possible location, since it’s supposedly “close to Joe’s family home,” or “the countryside.”

What’s more is that the outlet further alleges Swift has given her “team” very specific instructions when it comes to finding the perfect home. It’s alleged the songstress, who has a known passion for baking and admires chefs like Ina Garten, only wants a residence “big enough for two kitchens.” It’s even claimed Alwyn has taken to calling Swift “the feeder” because of all the cooking she supposedly does. “Two mega kitchens are an absolute requirement as she wants one near her entertaining area to be kept clean,” a so-called “source” is quoted as saying.

But beyond that, the publication’s purported tipster contends Swift just wants to find the “house of her dreams” in which she can “one day settle down in with Joe if their relationship continues to grow.” The paper concludes by pointing out that the Grammy winner already has property in Tennessee, California, New York and Rhode Island, and snipes, “That’s just greedy.” The dig, however, is completely unnecessary considering the allegations in the article aren’t even true.

Gossip Cop has learned that Swift isn’t looking for any kind of home in England, let alone one as described by the tabloid. Our impeccable insider was particularly amused, commenting to us on background, “Two kitchens? Feeder? It’s laughable and ludicrous.” Not only does the performer have no need to put “down roots” in the UK, as the newspaper wrongly put it, but apparently the outlet doesn’t realize Swift will be spending most of the year on her “Reputation Stadium Tour.” Dates are currently scheduled from May through November.

And, as People has already reported, Swift and Alwyn plan to make their relationship work while she’s away on tour by visiting one another, much like they do when he’s off filming movies. A house in London is by no means a requirement, but this subject seems to be a favorite of the gossip media in recent months. Just weeks ago, Gossip Cop corrected OK! when it falsely claimed Swift had moved in with Alwyn and was planning to make the arrangement permanent. Perhaps these outlets should take up residence with a group of fact-checkers to get its stories right.
