Justin Bieber Pursued Selena Gomez While She Was Still Dating The Weeknd
First loves die hard.
Family comes first for Selena Gomez.
Though she reportedly had an explosive fight with her mom that led to her jetting off to Seattle with Justin Bieber, the “Wolves” singer was right back in Los Angeles following reports that Mandy Teefey had been hospitalized for psychological evaluation. The 25-year-old was spotted squeezing in an early workout at a local Pilates studio Tuesday morning before heading back home with a friend.
As previously reported, Selena’s mother was taken to the hospital some time last week when the police did a welfare check on 41-year-old matriarch. After officers spoke to the mom-of-two at the request of an unknown family member, Mandy was voluntarily transported to a local medical facility for treatment.
Though initially reports claimed the 13 Reasons Why producer was admitted due to an argument about Selena’s on-and-off beau, a source recently revealed to People the cause of Mandy’s breakdown.
“It’s been a stressful time for Mandy and she made the decision herself to go to the hospital and make sure everything was okay,” the insider said. “This wasn’t just about Justin.”
The informant continued, “It’s true her family doesn’t approve of Justin, but this wasn’t just over a fight about him.”

Meanwhile, a Bieber insider told the publication, “Justin knows Selena’s family is not happy about her dating him.”
“He has known for a long time. But he is adamant that he has changed and is a better boyfriend now,” the source spilled. “He will keep trying to prove himself to her family. He is sad that her mom is not doing well. Selena is very close with her mom, so it’s stressful for her. He wants Selena to be happy.”
Amid rumors of family drama, Mandy took to Instagram Monday to remember the child she lost to miscarriage in 2011. Sharing a series of photos of her holding her baby bump, she wrote, “Thank you to all the fans who honored our Scarlett yesterday. Dec 17th will never be the same, but we decide to celebrate her by writing her letters on red balloons and releasing them.”
She added, “A moms love for their children is pretty fierce. In order of my girls, Selena, Scarlett and Gracie.”
