Ryan Reynolds Claps Back at Warner Bros. Shade for 'Deadpool 2' Blasting 'Green Lantern'

Warner Bros. Twitter account is no match for the "Deadpool 2" star's wit.

Ryan Reynolds had the perfect response to Warner Bros. this weekend after after the studio behind "Green Lantern" tried to shade him for taking a shot (quite literally) at the 2011 superhero bomb in "Deadpool 2."

"We're going to need that ring back," the studio's Twitter account tweeted Saturday while calling the former Hal Jordan out, to which the actor responded with a ring reference of his own.

"Well, if we’d used a NuvaRing™️ in the first place, we wouldn’t be in this mess," Reynolds tweeted, referencing the a vaginal contraceptive ring.

Reynolds famously jumped ship from WB's DC cinematic universe to launch the Marvel "Deadpool" franchise, which has been a massive success critically and financially for 20th Century Fox (now owned by Disney). It knocked "Avengers: Infinity War" off the top spot at the box office, and received great reviews, for the most part (there's always some haters) with a Rotten Tomatoes score of 83 percent. In comparison, "Green Lantern" was trashed by critics with a 26 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes and grossing only $219.8 million off a $200 million budget. "Deadpool" grossed over $783 million worldwide in 2016 off a $58 million budget. The sequel has already grossed $301 million worldwide.
