Reese Witherspoon has not been comforting Nicole Kidman amid her (nonexistent) marriage problems with Keith Urban, despite a made-up tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk this claim. A rep for Kidman tells us the story is false.
According to Woman’s Day, however, Kidman has been very “distressed” while filming the second season of “Big Little Lies” in California, and it’s all because the actress is on the brink of divorce from her husband of 12 years. An alleged “source” tells the magazine that Kidman looked “visibly upset” between takes on the set of the HBO series, with the reason being that she had gotten into a “heated argument” with Urban over the phone.
The outlet’s questionable insider says, “She was trying not to cause a fuss, but people around her could hear she was really telling Keith off about something or other. She hung up, then started sobbing and pacing around.” The supposed tipster goes on to contend Kidman “was a mess” on set, prompting co-stars like Witherspoon “to comfort her, but she was so upset and wanted to be left alone for a while.” The seemingly phony source concludes, “Nicole says she’s hardly been sleeping and can barely eat at the moment.”
None of this drama ever happened. A rep for Kidman has told Gossip Cop several times on the record that her marriage is going strong. In fact, Urban shared an Instagram video on Friday of him and his wife watching the Nashville Predators compete in an NHL playoff game at the Bridgestone Arena. And last week, Kidman posted a photo of herself and Urban on the red carpet of the ACM Awards. The actress captioned the image, “Such a fun time at the #ACMawards last night with my love, @KeithUrban. Congratulations on your win and an amazing performance.”
Meanwhile, the Daily Mail published photos from the set of “Big Little Lies” last week, along with the headline, “Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman have a giggle as they resume roles as Madeline and Celeste for season two.” The accompanying images showed the two actresses laughing between takes, so the assertion that Kidman has been despondent on set clearly isn’t true.
Unfortunately, Woman’s Day won’t stop pushing this provably untrue narrative surrounding the famous couple’s marriage. Gossip Cop just recently busted the tabloid for publishing a bogus cover story announcing that Kidman and Urban were “over.” In addition to Kidman and Urban’s own social media pages showing how in love they are, the actress’s rep once again shot down the wrong speculation. The spokesperson tells Gossip Cop, “It is actually hilarious,” adding lightheartedly, “Someone should do a story on how many times they are supposedly getting a divorce.”
