Has Prince Charles really ordered Camilla Parker Bowles to undergo a “plastic surgery makeover” in an effort to save their marriage? That’s the latest claim coming from one of this week’s tabloids, but Gossip Cop can set the record straight. We’re told it’s “false.”
According to the National Enquirer, Prince Charles has demanded that “prune-faced” Parker Bowles get plastic surgery to save their relationship. As a result, contends the supermarket tabloid, the Duchess of Cornwall plans to spend $100,000 on a “cosmetic overhaul to compete with her glamorous daughters-in-law.” The magazine then quotes a so-called “royal insider” as saying in bizarrely unnatural language, “Charles looks at Prince William’s wife, Kate, and Prince Harry’s bride-to-be, Meghan Markle, and he’s consumed with jealousy.”
The outlet’s alleged “insider” further claims Prince Charles has “given Camilla an ultimatum: Go under the knife or the marriage is over.” “She’s planning a head-to-toe transformation to make Charles fall in love with her all over again,” maintains the seemingly fake source, who claims Parker Bowles’ plastic surgery “wish list” includes a $30,000 face, brow and neck lift, as well as a “breast lift, tummy and thigh liposuction for $20,000,” and “upper and lower eyelid surgery.” The tabloid’s dubious tipster adds, “Camilla’s also looking at a youthful, behind-the-ears hairstyle like her favorite actress, Helen Mirren,” before concluding, “She’s vowed to turn herself back into the woman of Charles’ dreams.”
Gossip Cop fact-checked into the magazine’s assertions, and a palace insider assures us the article is made-up and completely “false.” Our impeccable source notes that among the first clues the outlet manufactured its story is the alleged quotation, “Charles looks at Prince William’s wife, Kate, and Prince Harry’s bride-to-be, Meghan Markle, and he’s consumed with jealousy.” If a real “royal insider” has said anything remotely resembling that, he or she would have stated something to the effect of “Prince Charles looks at the Duchess of Cambridge and Ms. Markle.” It would have been more formal and filled with fewer descriptors such as “Prince Harry’s bride-to-be,” which is useful when writing tabloid stories, but phony when referring to the future royal.
Regardless, Gossip Cop is told Prince Charles is not ordering his wife to undergo a “plastic surgery makeover,” nor is he jealous of Prince William and Prince Harry’s partners. It’s clear the older royals are very happy together, as Prince Charles and Parker Bowles’ love story has spanned nearly five decades. Of course, this is all coming from the Enquirer, the same magazine that previously claimed Prince Charles thought Buckingham Palace was haunted.
It’s also the same publication Gossip Cop corrected when it falsely contended Prince Charles will only reign as king for seven years before handing the crown to his son Prince William. Those reports were fabricated, and the same goes for this newest article. Maybe it’s time for the tabloid to get a complete “makeover” when it comes to its coverage of Prince Charles.
