OK! Flip-Flops On Jennifer Garner, Josh Duhamel Dating After Spreading False Claims

OK! is flip-flopping on Jennifer Garner and Josh Duhamel dating. After spending the last few months falsely claiming the co-stars are in a secret relationship, the tabloid is finally acknowledging there is no romance. Gossip Cop can explain what’s going on.

In early January, OK! published a cover story announcing Garner and Duhamel were in a “secret romance” (see below). The tabloid alleged that after growing close through the filming of Love, Simon last year, the colleagues were now embarking on a relationship off-screen. But within hours of the issue hitting newsstands, Gossip Cop learned that the claims were all made-up. There was absolutely nothing going on between the pair.

But a few weeks later, the gossip magazine doubled-down with a second cover story that alleged Duhamel had met Garner’s kids as he was supposedly now regularly spending time at her home. The outlet went as far as photoshopping the actor into an old photo of the actress and her children in an attempt to dupe readers (see below). The publication insisted the nonexistent relationship was proceeding “full steam ahead,” with the purported couple “moving quickly and on the verge of going public.” Again, Gossip Cop discovered that the allegations were all fabricated.

Fast-forward to late February, when the tabloid contended Duhamel was hiding his relationship with Garner. After he denied to paparazzi that they were an item, the magazine essentially accused him of lying. “They’ve been keeping their relationship a secret at Josh’s urging,” asserted the outlet. That makes three separate articles, two of them cover stories, that the publication manufactured about a supposed romance.

Now here we are in March, and OK! has a post on its website that begins, “They might play a loving married couple in their new movie Love, Simon, but recently single Jennifer Garner and Josh Duhamel are not actually in a relationship.” Oh, really? The tabloid spent the last two months claiming the opposite. In this new piece, the magazine has the nerve to claim it is “fans” who “believe the two are thing,” not admitting it was the outlet itself that sparked such untruthful rumors in the first place.

The publication is only finally reversing course, albeit without taking responsibility for the falsehoods, because Garner and Duhamel laughed off the dating rumors in a recent interview. Duhamel said, “I laugh at [the speculation]… She deserves somebody far better than me.” The tabloid is highlighting his statement in its latest article, but what it really should be doing is apologizing for spending months spreading a completely bogus narrative.
