Nicki Minaj And Eminem Aren’t Really Dating, Duh

Eminem probably thought he’d gotten a free celebrity bearding from fellow hip-hop royalty Nicki Minaj this week when she told a fan that they were dating. But then someone in her organization spoiled his Memorial Day weekend by denying it to TMZ. Think of it this way, Marshall. It’s a lot harder to catch DL dick when everyone’s staring at you fake-dating a fellow celeb.
Nicki’s been teasing her upcoming album release, and one of her marketing moves is to post herself lip-synching to her own songs on social media. One of these new tracks, “Big Bank,” has a verse about her supposedly dropping that two-ton booty on Slim Shady. Lies! It was all lies!
Minaj set the internet on fire Friday after responding “yes” to a fan who asked her, “You dating Eminem???” on Instagram. Sources close to Minaj tell TMZ she was only joking … there’s nothing romantic between the two.
Nicki and Eminem collaborated on “Roman’s Revenge” off her debut album, Pink Friday. They don’t seem to have been in the same room, though, as Nicki told it (via DJ Booth).
“I remember, every time I wrote a verse to ‘Roman’s Revenge’ and sent it to Eminem, he would send a new verse back,” Minaj told XXL in an interview for their 20th Anniversary issue. “It was competitive, it was fun. I think all the big male artists (air quotes) also treated me with a sense of respect as an emcee. They took me serious. If they were on a track with me, they knew they had to come hard.”
But it turns out that Eminem didn’t come hard, at least on Nicki. They’ll still get the necessary attention, though, when Eminem writes the inevitable track in which he raps about kidnapping Nicki, dismembering her, and wearing her buttocks as a hat. Don’t think that Em is any less a feminist in his old age.
