Meghan Markle & Prince Harry are making an unannounced trip to Belfast

This was unannounced. No one knew that this royal trip to Belfast was going to happen. I suspect that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s day-trip to Belfast wasn’t given any advance press because of security concerns, because even after all these years after The Troubles, it’s still a massive security concern for a member of the royal family to visit Northern Ireland. Prince William and then-Kate Middleton went to Belfast during their engagement too – it was one of Kate’s first official public appearances with William. For Meghan, it’s more about Harry wanting to “introduce” her to the United Kingdom.

Fashion IDs: Meghan is wearing a Mackage coat which (again) looks slightly too big for her. I get that Meghan has a small frame and she must have very delicate shoulders, but the answer is just going for a smaller size. It’s really that simple. Her sweater is Victoria Beckham, possibly/probably the same one she wore in the official engagement portraits. The skirt is by Greta Constantine and the purse is Charlotte Elizabeth. Much like I hoped Meghan would make trousers her fashion-signature, I suspect that Meghan’s real fashion signature is small-handled handbags, rather than shoulder bags or clutches. The outfit, on the whole, is fine. It’s nice to see her in a skirt after several appearances in trousers. And I do love Meg’s commitment to separates.

PS… Her shoe game is better than Kate’s, but that’s setting the bar pretty low. I do find her velvet heels enchanting though.

PPS… I hope they visit the Game of Thrones set in Belfast and Meghan sits on the throne.
