Kylie Jenner Defending Her Tardiness Leads Today’s Star Sightings
May 22, 2018Kylie Jenner will do things on her own schedule, thank you very much.
When the 20-year-old reality star was recently called out by fans for showing up four hours later than she was supposed to at her Kylie Cosmetics pop-up shop in San Francisco on Friday, May 18, she quickly defended herself against those who criticized her punctuality. Taking to Twitter, the makeup mogul launched into a lengthy explanation for her delayed entrance.
“Ok for the few complaints I see saying I showed up ‘4 hours late’ to my pop up. I want to make it clear I don’t get to choose what time I go. I would be there an hour before it opens if it were up to me,” she began. “It’s up to the police who shut down the street at a certain time and let me know when they believe I should come because I feel strongly about being there to see everyone’s faces.”
The new mom also told her followers that she was at the store the day before to help unpack her new products.
“I came there a day early and set the store up myself so it would be PERFECT for you guys. if I didn’t love doing these pop ups and seeing you all I wouldn’t do them at all!” she wrote. “Just gets to me when I see comments like I made everyone wait and I showed up hours late when that’s just not the truth of the situation.”

However, according to many who lined up on the street hoping to get a glimpse of their idol, Kylie did show up unfashionably late to her own event.
“@kyliejenner shows up hours late then leaves after 5 minutes while the people who keep her rich waited all day and camped out,” user @_ptvdestiny wrote in a now-deleted tweet.
“Kylie legit got there 6 hours late and was there for 10 seconds lmfao but it was a fun experience :))” @@Babyv_____ tweeted, alongside photos of the storefront.
Meanwhile, @MexicanMami_ complained how Kylie seemingly only met fans who arrived around the same time she did, as opposed to the ones who camped out all day, ranting, “I still cannot fathom the fact that my b***h a** showed up to kylie jenners f**king pop up shop a whole ass day early and slept on the f**king ground so I could keep my spot in line AND YET all the b***hes that were late got to meet her and I didnt.”
Despite the setback, Kylie called the pop-up an “amazing” success. “I love meeting you guys,” she tweeted. “We are such a strong team.”
Let’s just hope the next one will be slightly better.
