Is Khloe Kardashian marrying Tristan Thompson amid his cheating scandal? That’s the latest claim to emerge from the tabloids after it was revealed the NBA star was unfaithful. But Gossip Cop can bust the story.

The latest issue of Heat announces on its cover: “Breaking News: Khloe To Marry Love-Rat Tristan.” Inside the edition, a headline declares, “Khloe Wants Tristan To Put A Ring On It… To Save Face After Cheating Scandal.” According to the story, Kardashian “isn’t just prepared to forgive Tristan, she’s even pushing for a proposal.” The new mom is said to be “desperate to save face and prove she’s the one who can change him.”

“Khloe is so humiliated after the cheating revelations, she feels that if she got a ring on her finger, it would help show that she’s the girl Tristan chose to marry,” a so-called “insider” is quoted as saying. The gossip magazine’s supposed source contends, “She’s obsessed with being seen as the one Tristan gave it all up for… She desperately wants him to prove that she’s more special than those other girls.” The outlet further asserts the plan has momager Kris Jenner’s blessing.

Claims the alleged tipster, “Kris has told Khloe that she needs to get the rock on her finger and his declaration of love for the sake of appearances, at least.” The publication’s purported snitch adds that Kardashian has told Thompson that she’s “willing to forgive him as long as she gets his full commitment. If he loves her and her daughter, she needs a quick wedding and a public apology.” No wedding details are provided, however, nor is it said how Thompson reacted to this supposed ultimatum.

Just as telling is that not a single reputable outlet has reported any “breaking news” about Kardashian and Thompson getting married. On the contrary, credible media has stressed that the future of their relationship is very much up in the air. In a story on why Kardashian hasn’t dumped Thompson yet, Us Weekly explained she’s “not ready to make a decision.” Far from walking down the aisle, “Entertainment Tonight” says Kardashian and Thompson are “not in a good place” and “continuing as a couple isn’t a sure thing.”

And while Kardashian is currently staying in Cleveland, People points out there’s been “no decisions” about rekindling her romance with Thompson as she’s “delaying that conversation until she’s ready.” E! Online further reports that although Kardashian “hasn’t given up” on Thompson yet, she has “one foot out the door” and is “worried about their future,” as she “hasn’t figured it out yet.” That’s four respected publications all giving the same take on the situation.

Then there’s Heat, with its wildly different narrative about moving forward with a marriage, something no one else has confirmed or corroborated. This is the same tabloid that falsely claimed Kardashian and Kylie Jenner were planning a joint birth. Of course, Jenner delivered in February and Kardashian welcomed her baby in April.
