Kevin Hart’s Longtime Friend Charged In Sex Tape Extortion Plot Against The Comedian!

The man who allegedly tried to extort Kevin Hart with a sex tape that was secretly recorded last year has been charged, and that man happens to be a longtime friend of the comedian.

According to the L.A. County District Attorney's office, Jonathan Todd Jackson (above) was charged Wednesday with two counts — attempted extortion and extortion by threatening letter — for allegedly trying to coerce the 38-year-old actor to pay an undisclosed amount of money in return for keeping the video secret.

The video reportedly shows the Night School star in his Las Vegas hotel room having sex with a woman who was not his wife. When Hart refused to pay up, prosecutors say that Jackson tried to sell the footage to various tabloids.

Here's the real kicker: TMZ reports that Jackson (who goes by J.T.) was a close friend of Hart's for over 15 years! J.T., an actor who appeared in S.W.A.T. and Hart's movie Think Like A Man Too, can be seen in multiple photos with the comedian over the years and even attended Hart's bachelor party.

The Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle star seems to be rocked by his friend's betrayal. After the news broke, he shared on Twitter:

Mind blown…Hurt…at a lost for words and simply in complete disbelief at the moment. WOW

To be fair, he could just be talking about Kanye West's batshit slavery comments… but it's probably about this!

If convicted, Jackson faces a possible maximum sentence of four years in county jail.
