Is Kendall Jenner really stepping away from the spotlight because of anxiety? That’s the latest claim coming from one of this week’s tabloids, but Gossip Cop can set the record straight. We’re told it’s “false.”
According to OK!, the 22-year-old model is “retreating” from the public eye. The magazine begins its report by quoting a so-called “source” as saying, “All the stress has become too much. She wants to focus on herself.” The outlet’s alleged “insider” goes on to maintain that Jenner is the “odd one out” in her family and “isn’t obsessed with turning herself into a brand.” Arguably, as Forbes’ the highest-paid model in the world, Jenner is a brand unto herself.
Regardless, the publication then points out that Jenner was “noticeably absent” from this year’s New York Fashion Week. “Kendall hates traveling [and] she’s upset about her acne,” writes the tabloid’s questionable tipster, before adding, “She feels snubbed by other models who are jealous of her success.” As a result, asserts the magazine, the model is taking a step back to “reevaluate” her life.
The publication also brings up how she “tries to keep her dating life quiet.” “It must be lonely for her,” speculates the outlet’s alleged “source.” At the end of its article, the magazine contends, “Clearly all the money in the world can’t buy happiness.”
While Jenner has opened up in the past about coping with anxiety and panic attacks, it doesn’t mean she’s “lonely” or stepping away from the spotlight. A rep for Jenner tells Gossip Cop the report about her retreating from the public eye is completely “false.” And as for her absence from New York Fashion Week, it wasn’t because she was “upset” about her acne or felt rejected by other models. The in-demand model took a brief vacation. Jenner even posted a video on Instagram of her snowboarding, with a caption that simply read, “time off.”
What’s more, Jenner showed her support at the March For Our Lives rally in Washington D.C. on Saturday, proving that she’s hardly out of the spotlight. Additionally, she also was “thrilled” to share on Instagram her April cover of Vogue. It’s clear the publication’s story about Jenner is entirely inaccurate.
Gossip Cop is not remotely surprised by the falsity of the story, considering this is the same tabloid that nearly three years ago ran a cover announcing Jenner was coming “clean” about an “affair” she supposedly had with Scott Disick (see below). Hiding back then behind yet another unnamed “source,” the magazine untruthfully asserted Jenner had “strong feelings for Scott” and no intentions of “apologizing.” Well, the magazine should say it’s sorry for repeatedly trying to dupe its readers. Like that report and so many others, the new one that maintains Jenner is stepping away from the spotlight is verifiably unfounded.
