“Keeping Up With The Kardashians” Ending Over Caitlyn Jenner Drama?

One year ago, it was falsely claimed “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” may end due to “drama” with Caitlyn Jenner. Gossip Cop debunked the report at the time. Now 12 months have gone by, and it is apparent our reporting was correct.

On June 5, 2017, RadarOnline announced the Kardashians wanted to “end their failing TV show.” The piece began with the site asking, “Could ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ be on its last season?” The blog maintained the series’ “future” was “in doubt” due to a “huge ratings crash” and the belief by “key family members” that “the show should end” because Caitlyn’s ongoing feud with Kris Jenner, which was heightened by the release of the transgender star’s memoir, The Secrets Of My Life, was affecting the momager too much emotionally.

“The entire Kardashian clan has finally fallen apart,” declared a so-called “source,” who claimed Kris, Kourtney Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian were “in agreement that ‘it’s enough'” when it came to “KUWTK.” Insisted this alleged snitch, “It definitely looks like this WILL be the last season we see the family… They are done being the most visible American family on TV. They all want out and are in talks with [the] E! channel as we speak!” It was even said that “some bigwigs” at the network agreed the show had “become old.”

But no TV trade publication at the time reported anything about E! canceling the show. Additionally, a rep for the family exclusively told Gossip Cop on the record that it was “false” the Kardashians wanted to end “KUWTK” over Caitlyn and the fallout from her book. And it soon became clear the cameras would continue to roll.

While that current season, number 13, ended just a few days after this report was published, it was in no way the program’s “last.” Season 14 of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” later premiered on October 1. That same month, “KUWTK” was renewed in a new “mega” deal, as Variety put it, that would keep the reality stars on the air through 2020. The network even said in a statement, “We are incredibly proud of our partnership with the Kardashians and they remain an important part of the E! family. We look forward to continuing our collaboration for years to come.”

That was a stark contrast to RadarOnline’s insistence months prior that both the infamous clan and executives wanted to “end” the “failing” show. What’s more is that just weeks before the renewal, Kris herself told Variety that she’s “never had a formal discussion about when ‘KUWTK’ might end.” And far from being too emotional to continue with the program due to “drama” with Caitlyn, Kris was just seen filming this past April and again in May. Season 15 is on track to debut this year. Quite obviously, this tale about the show ending couldn’t have been more wrong.
