A story claiming Justin Bieber is “still reeling” from his split with Selena Gomez was made-up. The report comes from the same site the superstar has petitioned to have shut down. As Gossip Cop has repeatedly confirmed, real sources genuinely close to Bieber don’t discuss his personal life with this outlet, which seems to double as a fabrication factory.

We are, of course, referring to HollywoodLife. In 2016, Bieber argued that HollywoodLife should be shut down, and blasted the blog as “untruthful and hurtful.” He further branded the online publication “garbage.” His candid remarks came after HollywoodLies, as it is nicknamed, spent years spreading misinformation about him. Unfortunately, Bieber’s public comments against the site have not stopped it from continuing to exploit him and his fans with manufactured tales.

The latest example was published on Thursday. In it, the outlet purports to have “exclusive details” on Bieber’s love life in the wake of his split with Gomez. In an attempt to add credence to its narrative, the website quotes a so-called “source,” who claims the Canadian performer is “simply not ready to get serious with anyone” because he’s “still reeling from the breakup with Selena” and “needs more time to heal.” Then, in language that suggests this almost assuredly nonexistent tipster doesn’t have first-hand knowledge of Bieber’s life, it’s asserted, “Apparently he’s vowed to stay single for the summer.”

There’s a few things to consider here, on top of the fact that Bieber has ripped HollywoodLies as “untruthful.” First off, not one reputable publication has reported anything remotely similar to the claims being presented. In the past, outlets like People and E! Online, for instance, have updated readers on the singer’s life. Yet now fans are supposed to believe that a blog he openly despises is the one that scored a scoop on the state of his love life?

Secondly, look at what HollywoodLies previously reported in recent months: Back in February, the website insisted Bieber was ready to propose to Gomez. Weeks later, the on-and-off couple went their separate ways. But then the site further stepped in it when it in March it maintained that despite it being reported they were on a break, Bieber and Gomez were actually “meeting in secret” and just keeping their continued romance off the radar. Not only did Gossip Cop expose that blatant fabrication when it was published, but time has proven we were right to bust it.

Now the outlet is acknowledging that Bieber and Gomez are done, yet rather than correcting its previous missteps, HollywoodLies is just trying to dupe fans by again pretending to have new insight when it’s already been established the publication is clueless. Bieber may in fact still be getting over his latest breakup with Gomez and uninterested in another relationship, but there is zero reason to believe any “source” in his inner circle discussed such matters with this discredited blog.
