Judd Apatow Hits Out At Diane Keaton Over Woody Allen Support

Judd Apatow has hit out at Diane Keaton for her support of Woody Allen as Dylan Farrow’s sexual assault allegations against the Annie Hall director continue to reverberate around Hollywood.

The Knocked Up and 40-Year Old Virgin director took to Twitter to lambast Keaton after she called Allen her “friend” and that she continues to “support him”.

He wrote: “Woody Allen was so awful to that family and all of those kids, some of whom were refugees, some with disabilities. He is so proud of having no relationship with them. Can you imagine being around a family for a decade and not wanting to know any of the children? Heartbreaking.”

“I see a man who wanted what he wanted and didn’t care that he was having an affair with a 19-year-old when he was 54 who was also his daughter’s sister. He also took nude photos of this child who he had known since she was nine and left them out for his family to see. Narcissism,” he added, referring to Allen’s relationship with his stepdaughter, Soon-Yi Previn, who later became his wife.

This comes after Keaton, who starred in a number of movies with Allen including Sleeper and Love and Death, posted a video of a segment of Steve Kroft interviewing Allen in 1992 as he defended himself against Mia Farrow’s accusations that he molested Dylan Farrow, who was at the time seven years old.

She is the latest high-profile star to defend Allen following comments from Alec Baldwin, who compared Farrow to a character from To Kill A Mockingbird and said that she “shamed” people to believe her story.

Earlier this month, Dylan Farrow did her first TV interview discussing the allegations with CBS’ Gayle King and has remained in the spotlight, calling out actors like Kate Winslet and Justin Timberlake for working with Allen, saying they should “acknowledge their complicity” in perpetuating Hollywood’s “culture of silence.”
