A tabloid report claiming Josh Duhamel and Fergie’s divorce is getting ugly is entirely false. Gossip Cop can correct this claim. A rep for the singer says there’s no battle brewing between the exes.

“Fergie & Josh’s Bitter Breakup” reads a headline in the latest issue of OK! The accompanying article claims the estranged spouses, who split last September after eight years of marriage, are less than amicable. The main issue, according to a so-called “source,” is the singer’s supposed jealousy over Duhamel’s rumored romances with various actresses following their separation.

The magazine quotes a questionable insider as saying, “It’s no secret Josh has a ton of female admirers, but hearing constantly about how he’s moving on must be painful for Fergie.” The seemingly phony tipster further contends the Black Eyed Peas singer plans to use her ex’s dating life “as ammunition” in their custody negotiations over their 4-year-old son Axl.

“Josh wants joint custody, but if he’s got women constantly coming and going from his bachelor pad, she may push for full custody,” adds the seemingly nonexistent source,” who maintains that Duhamel will “no doubt hold firm on splitting time Axl fifty-fifty.” The “insider” adds, “If things get uglier, he’ll do whatever it takes to ensure he maintains his relationship with his son.”

The untrustworthy tabloid insists the estranged spouses “are gearing up for a fight” over money as well, adding, “It’s sad how far they’ve come from their amicable announcement, but as of right now, a battle is brewing.” This narrative, however, is entirely unfounded.

A rep for Fergie confirms there’s no animosity between the singer and her estranged husband, nor is their divorce getting nasty. It’s worth noting, the unreliable magazine cites Duhamel’s Love, Simon co-star, Jennifer Garner, as an example of an actress he was rumored to be dating. Only, Garner and Duhamel laughed off the romance rumors while promoting their movie in February. Regardless, Fergie isn’t upset by what tabloids have to say about her ex’s love life.

As for the outlet’s assertion the estranged spouses are on bad terms, Duhamel publicly defended Fergie on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” in February after she received backlash for her offbeat performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the NBA All-Star Game. “It’s hard to see someone you care about get beat up like that,” said the actor, who went on to call his estranged wife “crazy-talented” and “an amazing human being.” There’s clearly no drama between the exes.
