Jennifer Aniston’s Matchmaker Is Gwyneth Paltrow?

Gwyneth Paltrow is not “playing matchmaker” for Jennifer Aniston, despite a bogus report claiming the actress is trying to find her pal a new boyfriend. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk this claim. Reps for both Paltrow and Aniston tells us it’s made-up.

Aniston attended Paltrow and Brad Falchuk’s engagement party last week, but according to Heat, the actress had to be coaxed to show up. A so-called “source” tells the magazine, “Jen really wasn’t in the mood to go, but Gwyn convinced her to come,” further contending that Paltrow secretly wanted to set the actress up with one of her fiancé’s friends.

“[Gwyneth] really wants her to date someone who isn’t an actor,” adds the questionable insider. “Brad has a lot of writer friends who would be perfect – they’re sensitive, don’t need to be the center of attention, but creative enough to interest Jen.” As the story goes, Paltrow’s plan worked because “Jen really hit it of with one guy” and “exchanged numbers” with him.

None of this occurred. The untrustworthy outlet hides behind an untraceable and seemingly nonexistent “insider,” but Paltrow and Aniston’s own spokespeople tell Gossip Cop on the record the report is untrue. Aniston simply attended to the event to help celebrate her friend’s engagement, despite the tabloid claiming she was invited to meet a new suitor.

As for the magazine’s claim Paltrow had to practically drag the actress out of her house to attend her bash, People covered the event last week and noted how Aniston “loves socializing with friends.” The reliable publication further pointed out that Aniston “has a very caring group of friends that take care of her.” They’re not doing so by forcing the actress to find a new boyfriend so soon after the end of her marriage.

It’s worth noting, Gossip Cop called out Heat earlier this year for coming up with a similar story about Aniston being “too humiliated” to go out following her split from Justin Theroux. That phony article failed to mention the actress had just celebrated the 40th birthday of her friend Molly McNearney, who’s married to Jimmy Kimmel, and also attended the premiere of Jason Bateman’s movie, Game Night.

When the tabloids aren’t claiming Aniston is a hermit, they also seem determined to find her a new boyfriend, but as Gossip Cop noted earlier this month, Aniston is not back on the dating scene so soon after her breakup. This is a non-story.
