Jennifer Aniston is not leaning on Vince Vaughn amid her divorce from Justin Theroux, despite a completely made-up report. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk this claim. We’re told the actress hasn’t turned to her ex-boyfriend for support.
According to RadarOnline, Aniston has been finding solace in Vaughn, who she dated for more than a year after meeting on the set of their 2006 comedy The Break-Up. A so-called “source” tells the site that the two “have been chatting a lot over the phone lately.” The questionable insider adds, “He’s someone she’s been leaning on during this tough time.”
Vaughn is married with two kids, but the alleged source says the actor “still cares about Jen a lot and hates seeing her upset.” As the story goes, Aniston plans to return the favor by “helping Vince get his passion movie project off the ground.” The blog provides no additional details about this supposed film Vaughn hopes to get made.
It should be noted, the former couple hasn’t been spotted together in more than a decade, and there’s nothing to indicate they’ve had much contact since their 2006 split. When Vaughn opened up about his relationship with Aniston in a 2015 interview, the actor said he’s fond of her, but made no mention of keeping in touch. In fact, Aniston and Vaughn almost had an accidental run-in at the Sunset Tower in Los Angeles later that year. The exes happened to be at the restaurant at the same time, but People reported that they didn’t interact.
Regardless, Gossip Cop checked in with a rep for Vaughn, who dismissed the blog’s bogus report. We’re told the actor’s ex-girlfriend simply hasn’t turned to him for comfort. Also, this isn’t the first time RadarOnline has made up a story about the actress supposedly turning to an ex for help. Gossip Cop recently busted the blog for wrongly reporting that Aniston was leaning on Gerard Butler. However, she never actually dated the actor, so that article was inaccurate on a number of levels.
Aniston has plenty of friends supporting her amid her split from Theroux, including famous pals like Courteney Cox and Jason Bateman. The idea that the actress would turn to an ex-boyfriend from more than a decade ago doesn’t make much sense. There’s simply no truth to the blog’s account of events.
