Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux are not “at war” over the custody of their four dogs, despite a late and wrong report that Gossip Cop already busted. We can once again clear up the situation. A rep for the actor has told us the exes aren’t fighting over their pets.

Last week, the National Enquirer and RadarOnline both published false stories about Aniston and Theroux being in a “dog custody fight.” It was alleged that the estranged spouses’ canines are a “massive sticking point” in their divorce agreement. The unreliable outlets provided very few details to back up this premise. It was never stated what the exes were requesting when it came to the ownership of the pets, which currently live with the actor in New York City.

A supposed source further alleged that Theroux didn’t actually care about the dogs, but was instead using them as “pawns” to get money from his estranged wife. This claim made little sense. Theroux is a dog lover who frequently visits animal shelters and encourages his followers on social media to adopt rescue dogs. To say he’s using his pets as a ploy to get money just isn’t true.

Regardless, a rep for the actor told us on the record that the claims made in the articles were “all false.” Unfortunately, that hasn’t stopped Celebrity Insider from recycling the bogus story. “Jennifer Aniston And Justin Theroux At War Over Their Beloved Pooches,” reads a new headline on the unreliable website. The accompanying article regurgitates most of the untrue claims made up by the Enquirer and RadarOnline.

The untrustworthy blog ends its piece by arbitrarily recycling another phony storyline about Aniston confronting Selena Gomez over spending time with Theroux. This premise, which originated in The Sun, never happened either. Aniston’s own spokesperson already confirmed that the report was fabricated. Unfortunately, that didn’t prevent the site from throwing additional lies into an already untrue story.

It’s worth noting, the website seems to spread reports from other outlets without bothering to do any fact-checking. For example, the blog frequently posts recycled articles about Aniston having reunited with ex-husband Brad Pitt, which hasn’t happened. In January, the outlet even claimed Aniston had met Pitt’s kids, a false claim that was derived from a bogus In Touch cover story.

There’s a pattern here. A tabloid makes up a false story, and then the website blindly reposts it in an effort to dupe readers and get clicks. This latest article about Aniston and Theroux’s nonexistent fight over their dogs is yet another example.
