Jeff Golblum Has Signed On With Decca To Record A Jazz Album
May 30, 2018When he’s not acerbically dressing down hubristic scientists or shuffling around poolside at a historic Palm Springs mid-century modern wearing loafers with no socks, Jeff Goldblum enjoys spending time tickling the ivories at various nightclubs around L.A. and New York. And he’s being rewarded handsomely for it! According to Variety, Jeff’s just been offered a deal at Decca Records Label Group to record a jazz album.
Jeff was “discovered” when he accompanied the amazing soul-jazz singer Gregory Porter on piano on The Graham Norton Show back in October.
Man, I love Gregory Porter so much. What a talent. But, it seems Jeff’s no dilettante himself. He’s been playing piano since he was a just a little Brundle larvae. Variety says:
He regularly plays with his jazz band, The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra, around L.A. and at the Café Carlyle in New York. Goldblum also hosts a weekly jazz variety show at L.A.’s Rockwell Table and Stage when not away on location.

Decca had this to say about the long-legged Liberace of Pennsylvania.
“We are delighted to welcome him to Decca,” Lewis said. “He’s a fantastic jazz pianist, a great band leader and just about the loveliest man in the world. His love of jazz is infectious and whenever he plays he makes you feel very happy.”
In typical Jeff fashion, he reciprocated by proclaiming that he’s “so happy to be in cahoots with the wonderful people at Decca.” Then he lit up a cigarette and continued, “Now if you’ll, uh, excuse me I, uh, need to go see a man about a velociraptor” and ambled off into the sunset.
