ICYMI: Kathy Griffin Is Attending The White House Correspondents’ Dinner — Despite Previous Trump Severed Head Photo Controversy
March 26, 2018Well it's a good thing Kathy Griffin is no longer under investigation by the Secret Service!
In case you missed it, on Friday, the comedienne took to Twitter and announced that she has plans to attend the upcoming White House Correspondents' Dinner. As Miz Griffin caused A LOT of controversy with her severed Donald Trump-head photoshoot, we're certainly surprised that she's White House bound.

Although, to be fair, she IS a publication's plus one. It's not like the Trumpster issued her an invitation personally. In regards to the April 28 event, Kathy wrote:
Honored that I'll be attending the White House Correspondents Dinner for the first time this year. I'll be the guest of the great team at the @WashBlade @losangelesblade!

This means the 57-year-old could get some face time with POTUS, following her near career-ending photoshoot. We mean, there's no denying that Kathy took some serious professional hits after her controversial photo surfaced. At the time, the funny lady defended that the deadpan image was merely a parody of ISIS videos, but Donnie dubbed the picture as "sick."
Although Kathy initially apologized for the photo, she's since retracted her mea culpa, calling the outrage "B.S."
While we're all eager for a Griffin vs. Trump showdown to occur at the WHCD, we aren't certain the President will even attend the annual bash. Hey, Trump didn't attend last year's WHCD and his relationship with the press hasn't gotten any better so… our bet is he'll be a no show again this year.
