Former first daughter Chelsea Clinton has implied to The Guardian in an interview that she doesn’t think much of Ivanka Trump supporting her father President Donald Trump‘s agenda.
Chelsea, 38, whose mother Hillary lost to Donald in the epic 2016 election, is promoting her third children’s book, She Persisted Around the World.
But she took a big shot at current first daughter Ivanka, whom she’s previously considered a friend.
Chelsea reportedly made a face when she was asked if she feels sympathy for Ivanka as she supports her dad’s White House agenda.
“She’s an adult. She can make the choices for herself,” Chelsea said.
“I mean, she’s 36. We are responsible for our choices.”
That seemed like a snarky comment to many, and Chelsea, whose mom ran for President twice, continued, “In 2008 I was really proud to support my mom — but I disagreed with her fundamentally on a few things, particularly her then opposition to equal marriage rights for LGBTQ Americans. I never defended that position, because it wasn’t what I believed was the right thing to do.”
Chelsea and Ivanka, who are both married with kids, have hung out at functions such as the Glamour Women of the Year Awards in November 2014, and reportedly kept a private friendship alive despite political rancor.
But Chelsea, who was once accused of being a diva on a book tour, told the Guardian in her new interview that they haven’t spoken in “a long time.”
Chelsea added that other than the Donald’s youngest son, Barron, 12, who in her opinion should be left alone, his other four grown children can be criticized.
“They’re adults who’ve made the decision to work in this administration,” Chelsea noted.
But when it comes to herself, Chelsea moaned that she has endured taunting since she was a little girl growing up in the White House.

“The savagery that is directed at me, sometimes it’s because I’m just the person that they happen to see and recognize, and they’re angry, and so that anger kind of spills out. Sometimes they’re mad at me because of something that my mom or dad did, or something that my mom or dad never did — but they have been fed the narrative that they were trafficking children, or drugs, or some other heinous crime,” she said.
Chelsea’s controversial statements follow her mother Hillary’s continued sore loser sounding talk about the election results — and reports that the “Trump Russia dossier” was allegedly paid for by her campaign.
