Brad Pitt never wrote a tell-all book about Angelina Jolie, despite a report from a year ago claiming the actor was planning to do so. Gossip Cop exclusively debunked this claim when it first emerged. Time has proven it false.

On May 24, 2017, Life & Style said Pitt had been journaling about his divorce for therapeutic purposes, but after completing “almost 300 pages,” the actor was considering publishing his work to “help others going through similar issues.” An alleged insider claimed Jolie was very worried about her estranged husband spilling the secrets of their marriage, especially “because of the impact it could have on their kids.”

After the magazine’s story was published, Gossip Cop checked in with a mutual pal of ours and Pitt, who had no knowledge of the actor keeping any type of divorce journal. A source close to Jolie told us on the condition of anonymity that the actress wasn’t worried about her ex penning a tell-all book. It’s 12 months later, and Pitt hasn’t released a divorce tell-all, nor has he announced any plans to do so.

It’s worth noting, Pitt has been in the process of negotiating a custody agreement with his estranged wife since they split in 2016, so it didn’t make sense that the actor would risk upsetting her by sharing the secrets of their marriage in print. Openly discussing their children in a tell-all book wouldn’t help matters either. This was simply never something the movie star had any intention of doing.

Instead of writing books about his divorce, Pitt has instead used his energy over the past year to make movies and hone his art skills. The actor most recently finished filming the upcoming sci-fi movie Ad Astra, and will soon start shooting Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. When the actor isn’t busy with professional commitments, he often hangs out in his Los Angeles art studio working on sculptures and paintings. Writing divorce tell-alls isn’t among his hobbies.

Unfortunately, Life & Style has spent much of the past 12 months publishing bogus stories about Pitt and Jolie. Last July, the unreliable tabloid wrongly reported that the actor asked his estranged wife for full custody of their six kids. Just last week, the outlet wrongly reported that Pitt and Jolie’s divorce proceedings were held up because they were fighting over their Chateau Miraval estate. Time almost always disproves tabloid rumors, as is the case with Pitt’s nonexistent tell-all book, which never hit shelves and won’t be anytime soon.
