Brad Pitt is not renting a “summer love nest” to be near Neri Oxman, despite a new claim. Gossip Cop can debunk this untrue story. The report has a false premise and is easily disproven.
“Brad Pitt Rents Summer Love Nest For His Brainy Beauty,” reads a headline on the website of the National Enquirer. According to the supermarket tabloid, Pitt is planning for “a secluded summer hiding away” in Massachusetts, where Oxman is based. It’s specifically alleged he intends to “hide out in a penthouse at the Ritz-Carlton” in Cambridge, which is less than 30 minutes away from MIT, where Oxman teaches.
The gossip magazine contends this is a “compromise,” because Oxman “made it clear that she didn’t want to be pursued by paparazzi in Hollywood.” So Pitt decided to make a “move” to the Boston area, and “chose the Ritz-Carlton penthouse so he could get some privacy with an entire floor to himself,” claims the outlet. The publication goes on to allege that another reason Pitt is “renting” a hotel room on the East Coast is because he’s “building a dream house for his intellectual love.”
If that last part sounds familiar, it’s because Gossip Cop already busted this tabloid earlier this month for wrongly alleging Pitt and Oxman were designing a “love nest” together. The actor’s rep told us on the record that there was “no truth” to the story, which had an obvious flaw. The magazine was working off the inaccurate idea that the actor and the architect are a couple. But as Page Six first reported, Pitt and the MIT professor are only friends and there’s no romance between them at this time. That was confirmed not just by his spokesperson to us, but also other knowledgeable outlets, such as E! Online.
Now the publication is using this nonexistent relationship to claim Pitt is planning to move across the country to be closer to a woman whom he isn’t even dating. This narrative is totally bogus. But irrespective of the status of his love life, there’s another significant reason he won’t be spending the summer in Massachusetts. It was reported back in February that Pitt will be starring in Quentin Tarantino’s Charles Manson movie, and in April the director confirmed that shooting for Once Upon A Time In Hollywood will take place in Los Angeles this summer.
Given that this professional commitment requires Pitt to be in California, it makes no sense and is obviously wrong to allege he plans on spending the summer “hiding away” in the Northeast. And considering he’s not in a romance with Oxman, the notion that he wants to move to be near her is even less logical.
