Brad Pitt is not considering moving to Boston for Neri Oxman, despite a new report. Gossip Cop can exclusively bust this story, which is deeply flawed and untrue. For starters, the actor has no intention of moving across the country for someone he isn’t even dating.
But according to this false narrative from Radaronline, Pitt is “so smitten with his MIT professor girlfriend, he’s considering a move to Boston.” A so-called “insider” quoted by the site maintains the purported relationship is “getting serious,” and that Pitt and Oxman have been “practically living together” for nearly a month at her residence. This supposed source goes on to claim the pair are “almost ready to go public” and have been “spotted on double dates” with Frank Pollaro, Pitt’s longtime furniture design collaborator.
Actually, Pitt and Oxman have never been “spotted” on a double date with Pollaro or anyone else. The only time they’ve been photographed together is when the star visited MIT last November. The picture, which can be seen in this story about Pitt’s friends hoping he and Oxman will eventually date, shows the duo standing in a group of students. The website has no evidence to support its contentions about double date sightings or Pitt living at Oxman’s home. On the contrary, Gossip Cop was recently told by a Pitt confidante, who declined to speak on the record, that he has “barely ever seen” her.
But ever since Page Six rightly reported that Pitt and the MIT professor are friends with a shared interest in architecture, which his spokesperson confirmed to Gossip Cop, the media has gone into overdrive trying to make it seem like there is something more going on, even though there is zero proof to back up such claims. This new story, ridiculously claiming Pitt is ready to make a cross-country move for someone he isn’t actually dating, is an example of that. A rep for the actor even tells Gossip Cop on the record that the claim is “moronic.”
Notably not mentioned in the article are the six children Pitt shares with Angelina Jolie, who are based in Los Angeles. Last month, E! Online reported that Pitt “wants to see his kids more” and working with Jolie on a permanent custody arrangement. Similarly, “Entertainment Tonight” recently reported that while Pitt is a “changed man” since his separation from Jolie, his children “have been and always will be his first priority.” That doesn’t jive with moving 3,000 miles away from them.
That same “ET” report also noted that Pitt “is in no way ready to get serious with anyone,” which makes the notion that he’s contemplating moving to Boston for Oxman all the more absurd. Gossip Cop would be remiss not to point out that this nonsense is coming from the same publication that wrongly claimed in December that Pitt and Jolie were getting “back together for Christmas” and hadn’t “ruled out a full reconciliation.” Apparently the site has forgotten all about that bungled storyline, but Gossip Cop hasn’t. We won’t forget about this bogus one involving Oxman, either.
