Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani Marriage Plans “In Crisis”?

Are Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani’s marriage plans “in crisis”? A new report claims the couple is having “major relationship issues” because she wants to get married and he doesn’t. But a spokesperson confirms to Gossip Cop this story is made-up and untrue.

In Touch is alleging in its latest issue that Stefani wants Shelton to “put a ring on it,” based on her recent interview on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” in which the songstress addressed marriage rumors. The “one problem,” according to the tabloid, is that Shelton “isn’t ready to get hitched, and he may never be.” A so-called “insider” is quoted as saying, “If Gwen is waiting for a marriage proposal, she’s going to be waiting a long time.”

The supposed source contends Stefani has been “dropping major hints” about tying the knot, but Shelton is “not biting.” The blame is primarily put on the country superstar’s two divorces, which are said to “have made him wary of making it official” with Stefani. “He knows marrying Gwen could end in disaster,” asserts the alleged snitch. The gossip magazine, however, goes on to claim that Shelton’s “track record with walking down the aisle isn’t the only thing keeping him from popping the question.”

“Blake wants kids, and he knows Gwen may not be able to give him any,” alleges the purported tipster, who stresses, “He loves her kids, but he wants his own.” But because Shelton “won’t fully commit to her,” Stefani is described as feeling “like she’s in limbo.” The outlet also points out that in a recent interview in which Shelton was asked about marrying Stefani, he said, “I don’t think it’s any time soon or anything.”

The publication presents that as proof that he’s against getting married, but is deceiving readers by not featuring his full remarks. He actually said, “I think about it. I don’t think it’s any time soon or anything. The more time that goes by, I guess, the closer you’d be getting to that.” He didn’t entirely rule out tying the knot. On the contrary, he suggested they’ll be moving “closer” to that as “more time” passes.

So, why haven’t they wed yet? Well, despite what this narrative suggests, the blame shouldn’t all be put on the country crooner. “Entertainment Tonight” reported less than two months ago that both Stefani and Shelton are “not ready” to get married. It was explained, “There is no reason for them to rush into a marriage so they aren’t… Both of them are happy and content with where their relationship is right now.” In contrast, In Touch is making it seem like Stefani desperately wants to wed and Shelton is refusing. A rep for the No Doubt front woman confirms to Gossip Cop that such a take is untrue.

It was also seemingly only made-up just to exploit Stefani and Shelton’s recent comments on the subject. The tabloid also has a lot of nerve talking about his “track record” when not acknowledging its own. This is the same magazine that has run fabricated stories about the couple getting married and having a baby virtually since the moment they got together in late 2015. Even more glaring is that, as Gossip Cop pointed out roughly two weeks ago, the outlet couldn’t decide whether Shelton dumped Stefani or if they were getting married and having a baby. The publication recently presented those conflicting storylines, and is now contradicting itself yet again. In Touch remains woefully out of touch with what’s really going on.
