Bill Maher On Roseanne: ‘She Has Multiple Personalities, And Unfortunately, One Of Them Is Quite A Racist’
June 2, 2018Bill Maher sure doesn't hold back…
Last night on Real Time, Maher addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding Roseanne Barr and her newly-canceled re-boot show after the sitcom star sent an undeniably racist tweet earlier this week.
And on his own show last night on HBO, Maher addressed Barr — and Samantha Bee's current cuntroversy — in his opening monologue about free speech, comedy, and social issues (above).

Here's the key portion from Maher, who cut right to the chase about where we're at with Roseanne's ongoing controversy (below):
"I was a tough week for the line. You know the line? The one that comedians sometimes cross. Half the country wants Roseanne to go away forever and half the country wants Samantha Bee to go away forever. Now, Roseanne will always be my friend but her world came crashing down this week with a series of tweets she put out on Tuesday that were so full of racism, conspiracy theories and personal attacks they were described as abhorrent bordering on presidential … My friend Roseanne admitted that she had been admitted to a mental institution. She has said she has multiple personalities, and unfortunately, one of them is quite a racist … It is not a mystery to me that a person with a mental illness could be taken in by a party that has lost its mind."
Wow!!
And for those political junkies among us, Maher also had Senator Bernie Sanders on the show last night to talk politics and inequality (below):
But seriously, how about Maher on Roseanne?!
