Benedict Cumberbatch played soccer with kids ahead of hosting the Laureus Awards
February 8, 2018I still get nostalgic about how much fun we had with Benedict Cumberbatch several years ago. God, those were the good old days! We enjoyed conspiracies about Sophie Hunter and their romance, pregnancy, engagement and wedding, and whether Bendy’s oversaturation would help or hurt his Oscar campaign. It was such a happy time! Bendy realized that he was oversaturating the Cumbermarket though, and in the past few years, he’s really taken a step back. Nowadays, it feels like he barely promotes his projects, rarely gives interviews and only comes out for a handful of red carpets.
But Bendy is stepping back into a role he seemed to enjoy: host of the Laureus World Sports Awards. He’ll be hosting the awards show on February 27th in Monaco. He previously hosted the awards in 2015, when they were held in Shanghai, and he hosted the 2014 awards too. To promote his gig, Benedict was in London on Tuesday for a photo-op with the Active Communities Network program. Basically, he was watching kids play soccer (or football).
Don’t get me wrong, I’m still oddly attracted to him, but I haven’t been into his personal styling in a while. He seems to have lost his spark, his hair looks weird, and he needs to take better care of his skin. Perhaps a good night cream? Also, in case you were wondering, Benedict still has the ability to make me cringe with embarrassment on his behalf, because he’s such a dork. Here’s the announcement video he did when he was confirmed as host:
