A story claiming Becca Kufrin “fears” doing “The Bachelorette” is a “mistake” was made-up. Gossip Cop can bust this seemingly fabricated article. We hear no one close to the reality star actually made such allegations.

As Gossip Cop has reported, Kufrin appeared on the latest season of “The Bachelor” as one of the women vying for Arie Luyendyk’s heart. On the finale, which filmed in November, he proposed to her and she accepted. But more than a month into their engagement, Luyendyk ended the relationship and reconciled with his runner-up, Lauren Burnham. Then, on Tuesday’s “After The Final Rose” special, host Chris Harrison announced Kufrin would get another chance to find love on TV as the new star of “The Bachelorette.”

But according to HollywoodLife, Kufrin “may not be ready” to go on such a journey because she “hasn’t recovered” from her split with Luyendyk. A so-called “source close to Becca” is quoted as saying, “Becca fears agreeing to do ‘The Bachelorette’ may be a mistake. She is slowly realizing she is still suffering from a broken heart.” The site’s supposed snitch goes on, “Becca wants to be in love and get married but is reluctant to go back on TV after the embarrassing end last season. She is hoping for the best and praying that by the time production starts, the Arie mess will be behind her.”

There’s a few flaws with these contentions. First off, production has already started. Kufrin met a few of her suitors on “After The Final Rose,” and she’ll be filming for the show in Minnesota this weekend, as revealed in a Twitter post. Her contract is signed and her participation is a done deal. It makes no sense that she would have someone “close” to her tell the gossip media that she’s “reluctant” to proceed.

In addition, while Kufrin’s messy breakup with Luyendyk only played out on TV a few days ago, the split actually took place in early January. She has had roughly two months to work through her feelings. Furthermore, while having to relive it all on television undoubtedly brought back emotions, Kufrin explained on “After The Final Rose” that watching the footage back was giving her “closure.” She even said she’s doing “well.” And when Kufrin discussed “The Bachelorette,” she noted it was an “easy” decision to sign on once she got past the “initial heartbreak” of Luyendyk’s actions.

This seems to just be another attempt by the blog known as HollywoodLies to capitalize on real news related to the reality franchise by offering up fake news. Last year, the website manufactured a phony story about Chris Soules “freaking out” in the wake of his fatal car crash. Then, roughly six months ago, the outlet pretended to have insight on Nick Viall and Vanessa Grimaldi’s split. Simply, when “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette” are making headlines, the online publication likes to jump on the bandwagon and concoct related articles. That’s exactly what’s going on here with this untrue piece about Kufrin.
