Angelina Jolie Never Had “Secret Romance” With “Mystery Man,” Despite Claim A Year Ago

Angelina Jolie never had a “secret romance” with a “mystery man,” contrary to a narrative that was spread a year ago. Gossip Cop debunked the untrue claims at the time, and it’s now apparent we were right. Jolie is still single and has not dated anyone since her split from Brad Pitt.

But on April 21, 2017, we called out HollywoodLife for a fabricated tale about Jolie having “private Malibu rendezvous” with a “new man.” It was apparent from the very first sentence that the site was full of it. The blog acknowledged the “identity of Angelina Jolie’s hot new man may still be a secret,” yet wanted readers to believe it had “exclusively” uncovered “romantic details” about their purported relationship. One would think if that the website was able to get insight on the supposed romance, it would be able to I.D. the “man” in question.

Rather, he was merely described as a “handsome British entrepreneur with strong political ties and aspirations.” A so-called “source” was quoted as saying Jolie was “doing what she can to nurture a secret romance” with the alleged foreign businessman, and that supposedly included having a “few secret rendezvous at the Malibu estate where she has been staying occasionally.” These “dates” with the “British hottie” were said to happen whenever Pitt had their children in his care.

The outlet went on to write, “Unfortunately, it sounds like it may be a while before we discover the identity of Angelina’s new man, but in the meantime, we love hearing how she’s having fun with him.” Apparently the online publication didn’t get how nonsensical and implausible this was. HollywoodLies, as it’s nicknamed, was “hearing” about the relationship, yet couldn’t reveal the age of the “mystery man,” how he and Jolie supposedly met or any other key information.

And never once was any of what was shared ever corroborated by credible news media. What was really going on was the site decided to latch on to a false tabloid cover story published the week prior that alleged Jolie was “getting married” to a “wealthy Brit.” In Touch also couldn’t identify the purported groom, likely because he was a figment of the magazine’s imagination. Though Gossip Cop debunked the report, HollywoodLies seized on it and not only regurgitated the misinformation, but embellished it by making up related articles.

Hence, this untrue and manufactured “exclusive” about Jolie being in a “secret romance” and having under-the-radar “rendezvous.” But there was no relationship back then, and there still isn’t one today. In fact, just a few weeks ago, People reported that Jolie is not dating and “hasn’t begun to think about her love life since her split” from Pitt. That backs up what Gossip Cop has rightly reported all along.
