Angelina Jolie Is Sticking To Fairy Tale Movies

While Angelina Jolie may be all about that art house director life, I think she must have realized ain’t nobody want to see that gore…and she has 900 mouths to feed! Since Angie starred in Maleficent and learned just how many zeroes a Disney check can add to a bank account, it appears she’s ready for more, more, more! Coming soon: Angie as Peter Pan! Angie as Captain Hook! Angie as Minnie Mouse!
After she wraps up Maleficent 2, she’s potentially joining forces with David Oyelowo to do a movie that’s supposed to be a prequel to Alice In Wonderland.
Deadline says Angie and David are in talks to star in Come Away as the parents of Peter Pan and Alice, who are supposed to be brother and sister. Before they were bright lights, big city in the fairy tale circuit, Peter and Alice were just giving each other noogies and bitching to their parents over who got to pick what show on Netflix the family would binge that weekend. Brenda Chapman, the director and co-writer of Pixar’s Brave, is on board for the movie, and she says Angie and David have all the chemistry to make this a hit (and presumably win Brenda another Oscar!):
“Angelina and David are going to bring a beautiful chemistry and depth to this magical story, giving audiences a wonderful step outside the expected.”
The film is supposed to surround a “tragic accident” of their eldest brother and how they are tasked with saving their parents from going down a rabit hole of despair until they finally have to decide on if they want to deal with Mom and Dad’s depression or go high tail it to a fantasy land. It kind of sounds like how most Playboy Bunnies wound up at the Playboy Mansion, but I digress!
