Alec Baldwin Defends Woody Allen by Comparing Dylan Farrow to False Rape Accuser in 'To Kill a Mockingbird'

"Her tears/exhortations are meant to shame you into belief in her story," Baldwin tweets of Farrow.

Alec Baldwin continued his support of embattled director Woody Allen by comparing adopted daughter Dylan Farrow to a "To Kill a Mockingbird" character who made up a rape allegation.

Farrow, Allen's adopted daughter, has long alleged that the director molested her when she was seven years old. When Farrow's allegations resurfaced in the wake of #TimesUp, Baldwin took to Twitter to call the public backlash against Allen "unfair and sad."

Sunday night, he dug deep into the issue with a series of tweets in defense of Allen. "Like Mayella in 'To Kill a Mockingbird,' her tears/exhortations are meant to shame you into belief in her story," Baldwin tweeted. Mayella Ewell is the character who falsely accuses a black man of rape, instigating much of the action in the book.

1 of the most effective things Dylan Farrow has in her arsenal is the “persistence of emotion.” Like Mayella in TKAM, her tears/exhortations r meant 2 shame u in2 belief in her story.

Baldwin also made sure to point out that Dylan's brother Moses does not believe her. "Which of Mia's kids got the honesty gene and which did not?" he asked. Ronan Farrow, though, has said he does believe his sister. He is one of the journalists who first published about Harvey Weinstein, ushering in the current #MeToo movement.

The latest series is a follow-up to tweets Baldwin wrote last Tuesday in defense of Allen. In those, he wrote, "Woody Allen was investigated forensically by two states (NY and CT) and no charges were filed." He also asked, "Is it possible to support survivors of pedophilia and sexual assault/abuse and also believe that WA is innocent?
I think so."

Baldwin didn't have time for his haters, either, giving them a simple series of instructions if they disagreed with anything he said on Twitter.

Dylan Farrow has not responded to Alec Baldwin's latest tweets, nor did she respond to his comments Tuesday.
