Abby Lee Miller On Prison Time: “I’m A Better Person Because Of This Experience”
January 23, 2018It would be a fair assessment to say that Abby Lee Miller has had a rough few years (not that I’m giving her a pass for her horrific behavior over the last decade!), but hopefully things are looking up for the Dance Moms star. We watched as she had some major meltdowns on the show (to be fair, the “ladies” she was dealing with were also the worst!), and her latest residence was less ALDC and more Orange is the New Black.
Thankfully for Abby, her time in the clink is drawing to a close. She will be released to a halfway house on February 20 after receiving a reduction in her sentence due to good behavior. Not surprisingly, the controversial reality star has some big plans for her post-prison life, including a tell-all book, some plastic surgery, and hopefully (her hope, not mine) another show on television. Lifetime, are you listening?
As her time in a California penitentiary draws an end, Abby shared the above-picture to her Instagram, and I have to say she looks amazing! She has reportedly lost over a hundred pounds during her six month stint for bankruptcy fraud. In the accompanying post, Abby offers up apologies and refutes rumors that she has been a less than stellar inmate. She writes, “Sometimes in life you make mistakes I trusted the wrong people and didn’t pay any attention to things I should of. I’m more than sorry for the mistakes I have made.”
Urging her fans not to believe the tabloid gossip, Abby defends herself and insists the time in jail has actually has made a positive impact of her life. She continues, “My world flipped upside down when I had to enter prison. I did so with grace, the stories you read about me been a princess are untrue. I have made friends with both inmates and staff, I’ve tried to better myself, participated in anything offered to me and I am a better person for this experience.”
Concluding, Abby asserts, “All the press stories and speculation are not entirely correct however, I am feeling hopeful but no dates have been confirmed at this time. I am feeling great and ready to turn over a new leaf thank you so much to everyone for your support especially my nearest and dearest I love you all (and yes this is me in prison) #abbyleemiller #abbylee #dancemoms #dance #aldc”
Let’s hope this fresh start carries over into the free world. Everyone loves a comeback story–even if it’s Abby Lee Miller’s!
