A story about how Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are “stronger than ever” amid Miranda Lambert’s “new romance,” was made-up, Stefani’s rep confirms to Gossip Cop. We can bust the bogus report. We can also explain why it was manufactured.
Earlier this week, it was reported Lambert is now dating musician Evan Felker, who filed to divorce his wife in February. Some reports have suggested Felker was unfaithful in his marriage and embarked on a relationship with Lambert before he and his wife separated and while the songstress was still seeing Anderson East. There’s also been years of speculation about Lambert cheating on Shelton, rumors that were reheated this week when Shelton cryptically posted on Twitter, “Been taking the high road for a long time.. I almost gave up. But I can finally see something on the horizon up there!! Wait!! Could it be?! Yep!! It’s karma!!”
Fans and media outlets alike interpreted the message as a dig against Lambert. Now HollywoodLife is trying to capitalize on the interest in the situation by offering one of its phony related stories. The site is claiming that a “source close to Gwen exclusively” shared with them “how she & Blake are dealing with the scandal.” In unnaturally expository language, the supposed snitch is quoted as saying, “Blake and Gwen have been talking a lot about the latest drama with Blake’s ex Miranda.” This alleged tipster contends Lambert’s new relationship, and the possibility that infidelity was involved, led Shelton to “[open] up to Gwen about the darker secrets of his marriage with Miranda.”
“Gwen and Blake have bonded over the latest drama with Miranda and his ex’s dating habits have had the strange effect of making Gwen and Blake stronger than ever as a couple,” asserts the blog’s purported insider. While there’s no disputing the couple’s relationship is still going strong, as evidenced by Stefani gushing about Shelton on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” recently, Gossip Cop was suspicious that a “source close” to her would really discuss Lambert’s personal life like this.
Our doubts and concerns were confirmed by Stefani’s rep, who not only verified to us that this narrative was made-up, but also called it plain “weird.” It is indeed odd to think someone in Stefani’s inner circle would dish to this online publication about her reaction to her boyfriend’s ex-wife’s love life. But when you consider this is the website known as HollywoodLies for its tendency to concoct and fabricate articles, this piece isn’t all that surprising.
Virtually whenever there’s a hot topic in the celebrity news world, the site pretends to have “exclusive” insight, often in the form of so-and-so star’s reaction to such-and-such event. That appears to be the template the blog is following here. The outlet pulled the same move back in January when it purported to know how Shelton and Stefani were “ignoring” a “diss” from Lambert. As we’ve repeatedly demonstrated, often with on-the-record assistance from their spokespeople, HollywoodLies and its anonymous “sources” are full of it.
