Yara Shahidi is standing up and speaking out to make sure young people show up to this year’s midterm elections!
The “Grown-ish” star is joining NowThis for the Eighteen x 18 campaign, which will bring her on as a guest editor to contribute original pieces and take over the outlet’s social channels on the 18th of every month until the November election.
The goal is to inspire Yara’s fellow 18-year-olds to use their voices to make a difference this year through registering to vote and showing up at the polls.
“It’s more clear than ever that young people have both social and political power in our country, and it’s so important that everyone turning 18 this year engages in the political process,” Yara said in a statement.
