Angelina Jolie is not pursuing Channing Tatum, despite a completely made-up tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk this claim. We’re told the actress isn’t trying to date the newly-single actor.
“Ange’s Hot Fling: Chasing Channing!” reads a new OK! headline. The accompanying article says Jolie has set her sights on Tatum in the wake of his split from Jenna Dewan, further contending she sees him as “a hot new romantic prospect.”
A so-called “source” tells the magazine, “She just wants a good-looking guy to hang out with… When Angelina heard he was back on the market, she called her agent. She has asked his agent to talk to him about the possibility of the two of them working together, but that seems to just be an excuse to get to know him better.”
The outlet’s questionable insider says the stars have crossed paths over the years, and “the few times they have met she loved his southern charm, intense eye contact and good looks.” The seemingly phony tipster further maintains that Jolie “really admires his dance background” and is also a big fan of Magic Mike, while her kids have watch his breakthrough movie Step Up “a million times.”
Here’s what’s really happening. OK! is attempting to create a nonexistent romance between two stars simply because both happen to be single. Gossip Cop, however, is told by a mutual pal of ours and Jolie that the magazine’s story is entirely fabricated. In fact, People reported just two weeks ago that Jolie “has no interest in dating at all.” The reputable publication noted the actress is entirely focused on her kids and hasn’t even been thinking about her love life.
It’s worth noting, Gossip Cop has debunked countless phony articles about the actress being on the prowl for a famous younger man following her separation from Brad Pitt. We recently called out a gossip magazine for falsely claiming Jolie wanted to have a “fling” with Garrett Hedlund.
Shortly before that, Gossip Cop shot down a bogus story about Jolie trying to “woo” Chris Hemsworth. There’s a pattern here. These dating narratives involving Jolie and a handsome leading man are proven false, and then the tabloids move on to another star. It appears to be Tatum’s turn, but there will undoubtedly be another male celebrity roped in next.
