Miller went to the hospital for “excruciating neck pain.” After she underwent surgery for what they thought was a spinal infection turned out to be cancer.
“We’re getting an oncologist involved and we have to figure out what the next steps are as far as chemotherapy or radiation or more spine surgery,” Dr. Hooman M. Melamed, an orthopedic spine surgeon at Cedar Sinai Marina Del Rey Hospital told People.
Last week, Miller was hospitalized for a thyroid condition two weeks after she was released from prison and entered a halfway house in California.
Miller was indicted on 20 counts of fraud back in October 2015. Facing a pile-up of charges and evidence and seeking a deal that was not going to be, Miller entered a guilty plea on June 27, 2016. Miller started serving her year and one-day sentence on July 12, 2017 and was released on March 27, 2018 before entering the aforementioned halfway house.
