Justin Theroux and Olivia Munn are not hiding their nonexistent romance, despite a completely untrue report in one of this week’s tabloids. Gossip Cop can correct this claim. A rep for the actor says it’s false.
Last month, Munn debunked an In Touch story claiming she started dating Theroux shortly after his split from Jennifer Aniston. The actress wrote in an Instagram story, “Dear Tabloids, Please stop matching me with my friends’ exes. No disrespect to people who do date their friends’ exes, that’s just not my style.” Munn also noted that her reps already told the outlet the claim was “100 million percent not true,” but it ran the story anyway.
Now, the latest issue of OK! is alleging that Munn is lying and has been secretly dating the actor in the wake of his breakup. A so-called “source” tells the magazine the pair first became close while promoting The Lego Ninjago Movie last year, and now “word is they’re quietly seeing if there’s something more between them.”
The outlet’s seemingly made-up insider adds, “Justin loves Olivia’s bawdy sense of humor. He just feels so relaxed around her. They laugh a lot whenever they’re together.” The alleged tipster then speculates that Aniston will be crushed if Theroux and Munn’s relationship gets more serious. “Justin may be ready to move on, but she’s still grieving,” says the questionable tipster. “It’s going to be tough for her to see him loved-up with anyone, but it will be even harder if he’s dating someone she’s friends with.”
The untrustworthy publication is basing this narrative on information from an anonymous and seemingly imaginary “insider,” but Theroux’s own spokesperson says on the record that he’s not romantically involved with Munn, who also maintains she’s not dating the actor. There’s no reason to believe the magazine’s untraceable “sources” when the truth is coming straight from the subjects of the article.
It’s worth noting, In Touch has kept this phony narrative going, despite all the denials. Gossip Cop busted the magazine last month for making up a story about Theroux leaning on Munn following his split from Aniston. There was no truth to the premise then, and it’s no more accurate now.
