Are Prince Harry and Meghan Markle really going to Namibia for their honeymoon? That’s what one outlet is claiming. But Gossip Cop can reveal this story was made-up.

According to the latest edition of Woman’s Day New Zealand, the couple will “toast their newlywed status” in Namibia, Africa, for the alleged “holiday of their dreams.” A so-called “source” is quoted as telling the publication, “Harry has visions of luxury camping with Meghan, surrounded by wildlife and nothing but the sounds of the savannah.” The tabloid’s dubious “insider” continues by claiming the former “Suits” actress has been “blown away by the thought and care” her husband-to-be is putting into planning their honeymoon, though she’s supposedly “not surprised, given he always arranges amazing holidays for them both.”

What’s more, the tabloid even references a “$900-a-night” private lodge in Namibia that is yet to be built, but notes it’s in one of the most “remote places on the planet” and will provide the couple with “complete privacy.” But this story is coming from the very same outlet that previously maintained Prince Harry and Markle were going to the island of Nevis in the Caribbean for their honeymoon. That’s not even mentioned in this latest article. Simply, the magazine’s inconsistency proves it doesn’t have any real royal sources or insiders, as untruthfully claimed.

In reality, the outlet is just regurgitating a recent Daily Mail report about how Prince Harry and Markle might be spending their honeymoon in Namibia. In that story from March, the newspaper alleged that Prince Harry and his Markle, who are set to get married at Windsor Castle next month, are opting to stay in a “£500-a-night lodge” in a remote area of South Africa. Evidently, Woman’s Day copied the Daily Mail and tried to dupe its readers into thinking it had exclusive information about the couple’s honeymoon plans.

Regardless, Gossip Cop still fact-checked the report, and a royal source tells us on background the story is “made-up.” While Prince Harry and Markle may spend their honeymoon in Namibia, give that Africa has played a central role in their royal romance, this particular article about the couple’s post-wedding plans is completely illegitimate, which is why our rumor meter is set to zero.
