Angelina Jolie’s “Flirty Friendship” With Ethan Hawke Upsetting His Wife?

Is Angelina Jolie’s supposedly “flirty friendship” with Ethan Hawke upsetting the actor’s wife? That’s what one of the online tabloids is claiming. Gossip Cop looked into the situation and we can exclusively set the record straight.

Jolie and Hawke co-starred together in the 2004 thriller Taking Lives, and according to RadarOnline, they’ve maintained a very close relationship ever since. An alleged insider tells the site that the two “still reminisce about one of their most explicit love scenes” in the film, adding, “When you work on something that hot together, it creates a bond.”

The outlet’s questionable source goes on to say that Jolie and Hawke have been “trading texts” a lot as of late, and the actress “gets butterflies when she sees his name on her phone.” As the story goes, Hawke’s wife of 10 years, Ryan, isn’t happy about the friendship. “He praises Angelina for her sexiness every chance he gets,” says the suspicious tipster. “He’s respectful but he’s not exactly blind to what a bombshell Angelina is.” The seemingly phony insider concludes, “Ange is not known for respecting the boundaries of marriage.”

But Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the situation, who exclusively assures us there’s no truth to the blog’s article. We’re told the former co-stars simply don’t have a “flirty friendship.” In fact, Hawke told USA Today in 2015 that he and Jolie haven’t really kept in touch too much since working together, but added, “Every now and then I get a Christmas card.”

It’s worth noting, RadarOnline has a habit of romantically linking the actress to her former colleagues. Just last month, Gossip Cop busted the site for falsely claiming that Jolie was having a fling with Garrett Hedlund, who she directed in the 2014 war drama Unbroken. Meanwhile, the blog’s sister publication, Star, wrongly reported last year that Jolie was dating Johnny Depp, her co-star in the 2010 thriller The Tourist.

In the wake of her 2016 split from Brad Pitt, the gossip media has also put Jolie into fake romances with male stars such as Tom Cruise, Sean Penn, Jared Leto, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston and even Jennifer Aniston’s estranged husband Justin Theroux, to name a few. The actress never dated any of these famous men, and the suggestion she’s getting intimately close to Hawke is equally false.
