Meghan Markle Calling Off Royal Wedding Over Prince Harry, Cressida Bonas?

Is Meghan Markle really considering calling off her wedding because Prince Harry is still “spending time” with his ex-girlfriend Cressida Bonas? That’s the latest claim coming from one of this week’s tabloids, but Gossip Cop can set the record straight. We’re told it’s “false.”

In the newest edition of Star, the gossip magazine asserts that the former “Suits” actress may be the “only element” missing from Prince Harry’s royal wedding at Windsor Castle in May. Why? According to the outlet, Prince Harry has been caught hanging out with Bonas, who he dated from 2012 to 2014, and the alleged “fiasco” could be the “final straw” for Markle. A so-called “source” is then quoted as telling the publication, “It’s an uncomfortable situation for Meghan, who is new to all of this and is trying to do everything right while the weight of the world is upon her.”

The tabloid’s questionable “palace insider” goes on to claim that Prince Harry’s “latest encounter” with Bonas took place while Markle was out of the country “visiting her mother” in Los Angeles. But, continues the outlet’s dubious “source,” Prince Harry is “refusing to end his friendship with Cressida” and “never really got over her dumping him.”

But that’s not all. Star further contends Queen Elizabeth “invited” Bonas to Prince Harry and Markle’s royal wedding after she learned her grandson had reconnected with the model. The magazine’s tipster maintains, “Meghan would rather Cressida not be there, but the invitations are already out.” And to conclude its obviously manufactured tale, the outlet’s “royal source” is quoted as saying, “Harry didn’t realize it would upset Meghan, he wouldn’t want to do anything to wound the woman he loves. He promised he’ll be on his best behavior, and Meghan has accepted that… for now.”

But there’s no evidence to suggest that Prince Harry has been regularly spending time with Bonas. In fact, they were last reported to have seen each other almost four months ago. As widely reported, in December Prince Harry and Bonas were photographed singing carols at the Henry Van Straubenzee Memorial Fund concert, which raises money for schools in Uganda, but they haven’t been spotted together since.

Additionally, the royal wedding is certainly not in jeopardy of being called off. Preparations for the highly-anticipated event are moving forward, as Prince Harry and Markle’s wedding invitations were sent to around 600 guests just last week. What’s more, security plans for Prince Harry and Markle’s royal wedding were recently announced, with strict measures being implemented in and around Windsor on the big day.

Regardless, Gossip Cop still fact-checked the magazine’s story, and a palace source tells us on background the report is completely “false.” On the contrary to Star’s misleading and fabricated article, Markle is not considering calling off the wedding because Prince Harry is “still” seeing Bonas. It’s all lies, and can be added to the ever-growing trash pile of made-up royal stories.
