Angelina Jolie is not “insane with jealousy” over Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston meeting up, contrary to a new report. Gossip Cop can easily debunk this false story. Pitt and Aniston aren’t having “meetings,” so there’s no reason for Jolie to have such a reaction.
This phony article was manufactured to capitalize on this week’s Star cover story, which untruthfully claims Pitt and Aniston are “back on” and having “late-night hookups.” One day after Gossip Cop debunked the report, HollywoodLife regurgitated the lies and announced that Aniston and Pitt were having “secret late-night meetings” that were “set up” by George Clooney. Now the site is adding to the misinformation by pretending to know how Jolie feels.
Of course, there’s a few dead giveaways this “exclusive” is entirely made-up. For starters, the blog’s so-called “source” can’t decide whether Jolie is “Angie” or “Angelina” in these back-to-back sentences: “Angie does not want to believe that Brad and Jen could be seeing each other again. Angelina feels oddly jealous that Brad could possibly be giving attention to his ex.” Real people don’t actually speak that way, just like a real person wouldn’t unnaturally say the phrase “to know that he could be seeing his ex, Jen, after so much.”
Then there’s a bigger problem. HollywoodLies, as it’s nicknamed, asserts, “If Angie is losing sleep, worrying about Brad and Jen hanging out, a second source has exclusively told HollywoodLife.com that the reports of their meetings are ‘totally false.'” Actually, Gossip Cop had the exclusive on Wednesday. But more importantly, if the website knows that Pitt and Aniston aren’t actually having “meetings,” why is it running a piece about Jolie’s reaction? Surely the actress herself would know whether or not her estranged husband has really reconciled with his former wife. She needn’t look to the gossip media to find out what is or isn’t going on. It makes no sense, then, to be offering Jolie’s take on something that she would know isn’t even true.
That’s not the end of the problems with this piece. The outlet goes on to claim “Angie reportedly shot down a chance to have her own face-to-face with Jen,” because she was “reportedly ‘furious’ after hearing about the rumored rendezvous” with Pitt. Why are these allegations, which originate from In Touch, couched with “reportedly” if the online publication has a Jolie “source” of its own? If HollywoodLies has an insider like it purports, it should be able to find out whether or not she really did turn down an invitation to meet with Aniston.
But as Gossip Cop reported on Wednesday when such claims first emerged, and then again on Thursday when HollywoodLies wrongly picked up the contentions, Jolie did not reject a dinner invite from Aniston because one was never offered. This whole article is untruths piled upon untruths. All of it boils down to the same basic reality that both the site and the tabloids need to accept: Pitt and Aniston are absolutely not dating. There are no “meetings” between them and no reason for Jolie to be “insane with jealousy,” just as there’s no reason for her and Aniston to talk it all out.
