‘Bright’ Honest Trailer Rips That Stupid Movie a New One (VIDEO)

If there’s one line that perfectly sums up everything wrong with Netflix’s original content, it occurs early on in this Honest Trailer for Bright when the narrator states that Netflix is “your go-to for prestige TV, and your last choice for movies.” I could count on one hand the number of Netflix Original Films that I’ve enjoyed, and I can comfortably say that Bright is not one of them. It’s a messy film that tries to be a gritty, realistic allegory for race relations but ends up coming off like an even more boneheaded, Axe Body Spray smelling disaster than director David Ayer’s last film, Suicide Squad.
Pretty much anything you could take this film to task for is covered here in this new Honest Trailer, and I’m glad someone’s finally saying what I’ve been thinking for the last three months. This was easily the second worst film I saw in 2017 next to The Emoji Movie, and the good folks over at Screen Junkies spare no one in their savage takedown of the film. Well, maybe Joel Edgerton, who was admittedly the best thing about the film. And that’s really not saying anything at all.
If you haven’t seen Bright, don’t. To paraphrase the great Ernie “Big Ern” McCracken, give this film a wide berth. It’s a real Munson.
