Kris Jenner never turned Paris Jackson into a reality star, despite a report a year ago claiming the manager wanted her to join the Kardashian family business. Gossip Cop is taking a look back at this false claim. 365 days have passed since we busted the original story, and the pair still have not worked together.

But on March 12, 2017, we called out RadarOnline for alleging Jackson was “becoming an honorary Kardashian.” The site claimed a “scheming” Jenner wanted to “pump up” ratings for “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” by bringing “wild child” Jackson on as a “new recruit.” The outlet asserted the famous “momager” first “zeroed-in” on the rising model at a pre-Grammys party, and was now on a “mission” to get her on the family’s reality series.

“Kris is convinced reality TV is where Paris belongs,” contended the website, which further alleged Jackson had already “agreed to strategize” with Jenner as long as her “idol” Kim Kardashian took part as well. A meeting was supposedly set to take place at Jenner’s Calabasas estate. “Now Paris may soon be following in Kim’s reality TV footsteps,” concluded the online publication.

Days later, the blog’s sister outlet, the National Enquirer, printed virtually identical claims. The supermarket tabloid, however, went even further, alleging Jenner wanted to “play Paris’ surrogate mom on TV,” with the Kardashian-Jenner family “adopting” her. But as Gossip Cop reported at the time, neither story was accurate. A source close to Jackson laughed off the claims, assuring us there were no plans for her to be a reality star with Jenner as her manager.

Time has proven our debunking was correct. Not only hasn’t Jackson appeared on “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” but she hasn’t embarked on any reality TV project at all. Arguably the closest Jackson has come to following in the Kardashians’ lead is appearing in a Calvin Klein campaign not long after the clan did. Furthermore, while Michael Jackson’s daughter has spent time with the Kardashians on occasion, she also hasn’t hesitated to criticize them, such as when Jackson slammed Kendall and Kylie Jenner last June when they were accused of misappropriating photos of music icons for their clothing collection.

In addition, Jackson’s only film and TV credits to date are the FOX drama series “Star” and the movie Gringo, which just premiered a few days ago. Clearly, reality television has not been her focus. And it’s worth remembering the Enquirer was also wrong back in 2012 when it claimed Jackson would being doing a reality show with Bobbi Kristina Brown. Such a program never happened, just as she never hit the airwaves with Jenner and family.
