James Bay ‘SNL’ Performances Of “Pink Lemonade,” “Wild Love” – Watch Video

James Bay performed “Pink Lemonade” and “Wild Love” on this week’s “SNL.” Both songs are featured on the singer’s upcoming album, Electric Light. Check out the video below of Bay’s performances on “Saturday Night Live.”

This marks Bay’s debut as the musical guest has appeared on the comedy sketch series. It’s also the first time he’s sung “Pink Lemonade” on “Saturday Day Night Live.” After that he sang “Wild Love.”

When it was announced in February that the Grammy-nominated musician was going to be on “SNL,” Bay excitedly wrote on Instagram, “WAIT. WHAT!? Can’t believe I’ll be performing on @nbcsnl.” Earlier in the week, Bay appeared alongside cast member Beck Bennett and “SNL” host Sterling K. Brown in promos for the show. The funny spots featured Bennett jokingly getting mad at the English performer.

Bay broke out in the music scene with his 2014 single, “Hold Back The River.” The track was featured on his 2015 debut album, Chaos And The Calm. In 2016, the record was nominated for Best Rock Album at the Grammys, while the single earned a nod for Best Rock Song. Bay himself was up for Best New Artist, but lost to Meghan Trainor. Still, Bay won the Critics’ Choice honor at the Brit Awards in 2015, and in 2016 he took home the award for British Male Solo Artist. As Gossip Cop reported at the time, he joined Justin Bieber for a performance during that year’s Brits ceremony, too.

Electric Light, Bay’s second album, is set to be released in May. “Wild Love” was the first track off of the album to be released as a single, followed by “Pink Lemonade.” Comparing Electric Light to his last effort, the 27-year-old singer said in a statement, “If I had to describe my first album visually, it would probably be a flame.” He added, “This new album is about a real sonic and artistic evolution for me. The feeling of a 100 watt bulb expanding and brightening is what I envisioned. Electric Light came to my mind and I knew it was perfect.”
