When You Aren’t Sure Who Demi Lovato Is Calling Out…
March 9, 2018When You Aren’t Sure Who Demi Lovato Is Calling Out…
Demi Lovato is making the media rounds in order to promote her upcoming tour. She did an interview with Vanity Fair talking about how she slides into the DMs of anyone who may quench her thirst. Next up on her media tour is an interview with Billboard where she opens up about her addiction.
Celebrities talking about getting clean is no fun. But celebrities talking about beefing with other celebrities? That’s what we’re all about. Here’s an except from the interview:
Lovato’s tolerance for artifice reached its breaking point at the 2016 Met Gala in New York, the annual celeb-packed, black-tie fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, presided over by Vogue’s Anna Wintour. “I had a terrible experience,” says Lovato, her voice rising in pitch for the only time during our conversation. “This one celebrity was a complete bitch and was miserable to be around. It was very cliquey. I remember being so uncomfortable that I wanted to drink.” She texted her manager, then went straight to a 10 p.m. Alcoholics Anonymous meeting.
Who could she be talking about? When you hear the term “very cliquey” it’s easy to point that finger at Taylor Swift and her squad. But let’s be honest, every celebrity runs with their own clique. Let’s take a look at some actual evidence. Specifically, this Instagram post summing up the 2016 Met Gala for Lovato:
A post shared by Baller Alert (@balleralert) on
It begins with Nicki Minaj posting a photo of herself with Lovato and designer Jeremy Scott. Only Scott is tagged in the photo. Lovato responds with a laughing/crying face, a peace sign, and a thumbs up. Then the “Sorry, Not Sorry” singer posts a photo of herself that feature Minaj giving her one hell of a side eye. Finally, Demi posts a SnapChat with the caption “When you aren’t mentioned in a post but didn’t do shit to the person…”
Notice the #whatsgood hashtag in the second photo. A direct shot at Minaj and her infamous, “Miley, what’s good?” comment in the middle of their feud.
Minaj certainly has a history of rubbing Disney stars the wrong way.
Until Lovato directly comes out and says who drove her to almost drink on that night, we’re just playing a guessing game. But the pink prints add up.
