Justin Theroux Hitting On Selena Gomez Following Jennifer Aniston Split?

Has Justin Theroux been hitting on Selena Gomez in the wake of his split from Jennifer Aniston? That’s the ridiculous claim being peddled in one of the tabloids. Gossip Cop looked into the situation and we can exclusively set the record straight.

Last month, Theroux shared an Instagram photo of himself holding two baby pit bulls at the Austin Pets Alive shelter in Texas, where the puppies are up for adoption. He tagged Gomez in the picture, seeing as the singer is a Texas native and a dog lover. The actor became friendly with the singer through his estranged wife, but NW is now falsely claiming hes “crushing hard on her.”

A so-called “source” tells the magazine that in addition to giving Gomez an Instagram shout-out, Theroux has also been blowing up her phone. “It was kind of an open secret that Justin was sweet on Selena when he and Jen hung out with her,” says the questionable insider. “But he’s asking for major trouble by trying to hang out with her and clearly stating his intentions so soon after he and Jen ended things.”

But Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the situation, who dismissed the tabloid’s article as total “nonsense.” We’re assured that Theroux hasn’t been romantically pursuing Gomez. This narrative was concocted simply because the actor tagged the pop star in an Instagram post promoting the adoption of animals.

Additionally, Gomez has previously described Aniston as a “maternal” figure, so the tabloid’s assertion that Theroux would try to date her now that he’s single is both ridiculous and wrong. The magazine is simply trying to create nonexistent controversy because the actor referenced one of Aniston’s friends on social media.

It’s also worth noting, this isn’t the first time NW has attempted to place Aniston and Theroux into a post-split love triangle. Gossip Cop recently busted the magazine for falsely claiming Angelina Jolie wanted to date Theroux to get “revenge” on the actress. We’ve also debunked the magazine’s countless phony stories claiming Aniston has reunited with Brad Pitt. Unfortunately, Gomez is now being tossed into the narrative simply because Theroux mentioned her name on Instagram.
