Jennifer Aniston has not “turned to weed” to deal with her split from Justin Theroux, despite a false tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk this nonsense. We’re assured the actress isn’t smoking pot in the wake of her marriage ending.
According to the National Enquirer, the actress has started “waking and baking” to cope with the anguish of another failed relationship. A so-called “source” tells the magazine, “When the stress gets to be too much, Jen tokes up.” The outlet’s questionable insider further contends that Aniston is “seemingly always stoned.”
The supposed tipster adds, “A couple hits of weed are enough to relax her. She doesn’t see anything wrong with it. Listening to soft music and smoking pot is what’s getting her through this tough time.” But Gossip Cop checked in with a rep for Aniston, who tells us the tabloid’s article is “completely fabricated.” The actress hasn’t become a pothead in the time since she and Theroux separated, and the claim otherwise is simply absurd.
It should be noted, Aniston has admitted in the past that she smokes marijuana “once in a while,” but the actress also stressed that she’ll only do it “in moderation.” Aniston also starred as a pot smuggler in the hit 2013 comedy We’re the Millers. It’s possible the Enquirer was inspired to concoct this article because the actress has opened up about weed and even made a movie about it, but she’s certainly not using the drug as a coping mechanism.
Unfortunately, we’re not surprised by the publication’s phony report. The Enquirer has consistently been making up stories surrounding the ex-couple’s separation ever since it was announced last month. Gossip Cop recently busted the tabloid for wrongly reporting that Aniston had suffered a secret miscarriage in 2016 and the supposed experience is what “may have doomed her marriage.”
Meanwhile, Gossip Cop corrected the outlet last month after it falsely claimed that Aniston and Theroux split because she caught him texting his ex-girlfriend Heidi Bivens. We also debunked the magazine’s bogus article about the actress leaning on former co-star Gerard Butler amid her breakup. Unfortunately, Gossip Cop suspects the unreliable tabloid will continue to spread fake surrounding the estranged spouses.
